1 My first You Tube is now available on Google, thanks to a very good friend. We always second guess ourselves, don't we. My first reaction was surprise; my next reaction was: My hair looks awful! And then I had to strain to hear it. Obviously the volume was turned down on my computer, and I didn't realize it. All things to be improved upon in the next attempt. It had to happen. I had to finally take the plunge. I tell people at workshops and in books all the time that I have written that when an idea keeps nudging you, follow it. I am following my own advice. It's fun and yet a bit scary to go in so many new directions all at once but why not. If others can blog, so can I. If others can tweet, so can I. I was thinking about what Labor Day used to mean to me this morning as I sat by the lake. I taught elementary school in the early 60's for 8 years and Labor Day meant the end of my glorious time off. Detachment is letting the solutions be determined by God. Solutions are seldom simple. Perhaps that’s because they generally involve other people too. When any one of us is certain we have the best solution for any problem or situation confronting us, we have quite naturally chosen one that benefits us, or our loved ones. Detachment is stepping back from an experience in order to allow room for God to do his part. I seldom remember, without some prodding that I initially resist, that God is a factor in every person’s experience. My ego’s first inclination is to think I am a necessary fac- tor.
