Health Care Reform is hailed by all! April fools!!

Wouldn't it be interesting if the entire country found something in the new law to make them happy?  I have thought a lot about this reform lately.  Considering all the discussion on cable news, it's been hard to avoid thinking about it.  I can't say that I understand the myriad details, nor can I speak for it's long term impact; but I do think waiting a while to see how it helps those less fortunate among us is wise. Giving elicits receiving. . .

You are no doubt familiar with the idea that we must give away that which we want to receive.  It's a common thread woven into many spiritual disciplines.  And it might not have been easy to wrap your mind around when you first heard it.  At least it wasn't easy for me.  My parents had lived through the depression, thus I had been raised with the idea of scarcity and giving some thing away, regardless of what it was, meant that we/I had less for myself.  Coming to understand the power of giving and then experiencing the abundance, in some form, that returns t[...]

It is what it is . . .

I don't know who originally coined this simple little phrase but it certainly fits multiple occasions.  Actually it's a great reminder that we can seldom affect change in any one else.  We can model behavior we'd like to see.  We can suggest a different course of action. We can even plead to be heard.  But finally, "it is what it is."  What others choose to do, how others choose to think, how others respond to us is up to them.
