Whew!! \u00a0I am struggling to learn some thing new. I have never been very high tech. \u00a0In fact, my first five books were written in long hand and I hired a typist just as I had done for my dissertation in graduate school. \u00a0At the urging of friends I decided to give the computer a go and amazed myself that I could type and think simultaneously.<\/p>\n
When it came to the internet, I again was timid at first, but I did go forward and learned how to \u00a0e-mail and explore the web for information.<\/p>\n
Next came a need for a web site. \u00a0Writers need one I was told. \u00a0But how was I to do that? \u00a0With the excellent help and attentiveness of a very good friend who is a professional in the field of web design and all things related, a site was created for me, a site that included a list of books, my speaking engagements, miscellaneous musings, etc.<\/p>\n
And then came the need for a blog. \u00a0As you can see, baby steps are what I took throughout this process. \u00a0I love baby steps. \u00a0They don’t scare me. \u00a0It’s rather like working the program that is my life line to sanity: one small step, one day at a time. \u00a0So for some time now I have been blogging and I love this process. \u00a0I love even more that so many of you have “chimed” in, in response to what I have blogged about. \u00a0But I need to be able to update it as needed without crying help <\/strong>all of the time. \u00a0Not easy. \u00a0So once again, I have called on my friend Hank and his amazing ability to teach is about to make me self-sufficient. \u00a0That is, until the next new idea has been bandied around and perfected enough for old folks like me to dare to try it.<\/p>\n I’m finding this way to reach all of you, coupled with correcting and deleting and adding new information doable. \u00a0The computer is an amazing tool. \u00a0And frankly, I am amazed that I no longer feel incapable of attempting those things that used to baffle me completely. \u00a0Just like we have learned in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, we discover we can, with God’s (or a friend’s help), do those things that used to baffle us.<\/span><\/p>\n I want to close this blog with a suggestion. \u00a0Whatever you think you can not do, try it any way. \u00a0Seek help if you find it baffling. \u00a0But try it. \u00a0I sincerely believe that those ideas that call to us, whether related to a whole new direction in life or a new hobby or exploring a new friendship, etc., are being sent our way as invitations from God. \u00a0I could be wrong but I am where I am today because I dared to believe this. \u00a0What do you have to lose?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Whew!! \u00a0I am struggling to learn some thing new.
