Detachment is stepping back from an experience in order to allow room for God<\/p>\n
to do his part.<\/p>\n
I seldom remember, without some prodding that I initially resist, that God is a factor<\/p>\n
in every person\u2019s experience.\u00a0 My ego\u2019s first inclination is to think I am a necessary fac-<\/p>\n
tor.\u00a0 And not just an ordinary one but the deciding one.\u00a0 Giving up control and letting<\/p>\n
God be the key influence in the lives of my loved ones is not easy.\u00a0 It takes trust.\u00a0 Not<\/p>\n
only trust in God but trust in others and in my own willingness to approach my experi-<\/p>\n
ences with all of them differently.<\/p>\n
The benefit of coming to believe that God is the key factor in every one\u2019s life is that it<\/p>\n
releases us of a heavy burden.\u00a0 Too many of us have tried to manage the lives of too<\/p>\n
many others for far too long.\u00a0 No one gains in that scenario.\u00a0 On the contrary, every one<\/p>\n
loses the peace that comes with turning our lives over to the care and guidance of a lov-<\/p>\n
ing God.<\/p>\n
