Every person you and I travel these roads with have made their trek to us because they\u00a0<\/b>need us and what we know as much as we need them for what they can teach us. I\u02bcve\u00a0<\/b>mentioned this idea before no doubt but it\u02bcs one worth further emphasis, I think,\u00a0<\/b>because of the importance of the journey we share.<\/b><\/p>\n
Knowing that every person is\u00a0<\/b>specific to our education means we don\u02bct have to be fearful about the experiences that\u00a0<\/b>present themselves. We have been guided to each experience and we will be led\u00a0<\/b>through it too. I have heard it said in many gatherings, that God never brings us to an\u00a0<\/b>experience without also promising us we\u02bcd be carried through it.<\/b><\/p>\n
Having hope that this is the truth is a decision I was encouraged to make many years\u00a0<\/b>ago. A wise sponsor suggested that I had nothing to lose by believing my life was\u00a0<\/b>unfolding in a very timely fashion. I would always be at the right place at the right time,\u00a0<\/b>facing the next right opportunity, she said. How right she was. Even when the path got\u00a0<\/b>rocky, and there were many times it did, I hung on to her belief that what had transpired\u00a0<\/b>was what I was ready for.<\/b><\/p>\n
The one time, in particular, that is still so vivid in my mind was when a professor told me\u00a0<\/b>my Ph.D. dissertation needed complete rewriting. I was stunned, to say the least, and\u00a0<\/b>initially terrified. The words that tumbled from my mouth were not really my own. I said,\u00a0<\/b>\u201cCan we go through it so that I understand your objections?\u201d fearful I\u02bcd not be able to\u00a0<\/b>respond at all. However, for nearly four hours, we did just that. <\/b><\/p>\n
I honestly heard\u00a0<\/b>nothing, not his questions nor my answers. But at the end of that time, he smiled and\u00a0<\/b>approved my dissertation. God had answered my call even though I wasn\u02bct aware I had\u00a0<\/b>made it. I immediately called my husband, fearing I\u02bcd just been dreaming.<\/b><\/p>\n
I remember reading the book, ILLUSIONS, by Richard Bach, very early in my recovery.\u00a0<\/b>At the time, I was scared and very confused by the changes that were happening in my\u00a0<\/b>life. I was also deeply doubtful that my life had any real purpose. But I was willing to be\u00a0<\/b>comforted by any reasonable suggestion and I found it on the back cover of that\u00a0<\/b>wonderful little book. It said, and I paraphrase: If you are reading this now, that means\u00a0<\/i><\/b>you are still alive and your purpose has yet to be fulfilled<\/i>. That tiny statement actually\u00a0<\/b>gave me the lift I was so desperate for at the time. It still is a great reminder. I am still<\/b><\/p>\n
alive, and so are you, obviously; therefore we still have work to complete.<\/b><\/p>\n
It\u02bcs rather exciting knowing that we still have important work to do. And that work will\u00a0<\/b>continue until that moment when our journey detours and takes us to the last, peaceful\u00a0<\/b>stage.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
