If we fail to detach from a person who is always in turmoil, we\u2019re likely to blame them for our unhappiness<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Allowing the irresponsible behavior or insane turmoil surrounding some one else to become the focus of how we are feeling in the moment is a terrible set-up for a resentment.\u00a0 And we all know how this feels.\u00a0 Choosing to blame others for our lack of peace is commonplace.\u00a0 We are in charge of our feelings<\/b>.\u00a0 No one\u2019s behavior has the power to determine them but we succumb, quite often, to this mind-set.\u00a0 Many of us learned this at the feet of our parents, no doubt.\u00a0 And we can unlearn it.<\/p>\n
The choice to detach is as available to us as is the choice to blame.\u00a0 We have just practiced blaming more frequently.\u00a0 We can re-set our \u201cdefault position,\u201d however, with a simple decision.\u00a0 It has occurred to me that learning how to detach is one of the reasons we are even in pretty constant contact with others.\u00a0 It\u2019s a \u201ctool\u201d with so many uses.\u00a0 It\u2019s not just with our families and friends that detachment comes in handy but with strangers too.<\/p>\n
Probably once a day you are faced with a situation with a stranger where his behavior leaves you upset.\u00a0 And it\u2019s in these instances where detachment comes in very handy.\u00a0 Nothing any one else does ever has to send us reeling.\u00a0 Isn\u2019t that an empowering idea?\u00a0 It means that every day can be as joyful and as unencumbered as we choose to make it.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 Blaming others is a common habit.\u00a0 We see it played out in our families and between world powers too.\u00a0 Allowing for our differences is one way to reduce our need to blame.\u00a0 Acceptance of the value our differences actually bring to \u201cthe table\u201d could change the tenor of every single relationship, worldwide<\/i><\/b>.<\/p>\n
