It’s a fact. \u00a0Every single one of us has a purpose. \u00a0And of course, there is only one of each of us. \u00a0Only one!<\/strong> \u00a0This means we are quite specifically \u00a0completing one tiny part of the whole. \u00a0Think of it as a jigsaw puzzle. \u00a0No other person can fill the “space” assigned to us. No one! \u00a0We are fulfilling a role that has been designated as ours alone. \u00a0What I am doing will always be a different assignment from yours. \u00a0Our work may fall into similar categories but there will be differences. \u00a0Important differences and the people who should be affected by what I do will make their appearance, quite on cue. \u00a0This will likewise be true for each of you who may be reading this post.<\/p>\n

I find this to be a fascinating and very reassuring idea. \u00a0It gives me immeasurable hope. \u00a0It does dispel fear. \u00a0And I am extremely pleased by the knowledge that there is now and always was a plan for my life. \u00a0It does make the future exciting to contemplate. Moreover, \u00a0it explains the past in the sense that there was a reason for the innumerable experiences that at times seemed unexplainable. \u00a0Unimaginable, in fact. \u00a0God was always present. \u00a0God is always present. \u00a0And God will always be present. \u00a0We cannot get away from God.<\/strong> \u00a0Not for a minute!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Perhaps that’s not an idea you cherish at your core. \u00a0Nor did I \u00a0some 40 years ago. \u00a0God seemed irrelevant to me then. \u00a0I didn’t grow up in a religious family. \u00a0We seldom went to church. \u00a0I don’t think that ever mattered to God. \u00a0It really didn’t change the trajectory of my journey either. \u00a0I still fulfilled a (His) plan. \u00a0I still met who I needed to meet. \u00a0I wrote the books God intended for me to write. \u00a0And I did each one of them under his constant guidance.<\/p>\n

I have always said, and I mean it completely: God is my coauthor.<\/strong> \u00a0The events of my life were not ever on my radar screen but they were on His. \u00a0How lucky I feel knowing this now. \u00a0How lucky each one of us is, in fact. \u00a0And the good news is that we do not have to believe in God at all for Him to stand guard over our lives.<\/p>\n

There are mornings, in fact there are many times throughout a day, that I momentarily forget who I am and what I am doing here. \u00a0My memory doesn’t fail me completely, however. \u00a0God will make his presence known. \u00a0In some way. \u00a0And then I can breathe easier again. \u00a0My goodness we are lucky. \u00a0Aren’t we?<\/p>\n

Breathe in. \u00a0Breathe out. \u00a0Acknowledge God. \u00a0That’s the assignment. \u00a0It can’t get any simpler than that. \u00a0Can it?<\/p>\n
