I’m amazed and a bit chagrined that I have been away from my blog for three weeks. \u00a0It’s the longest I have been away since beginning it in 2009. \u00a0And actually, I didn’t go any place. \u00a0I was simply caught up in the book I am writing and a writer strikes while the iron is hot. \u00a0I was making good progress and every minute I could, every minute I wasn’t preparing for a talk or a workshop, I was deep in thought and sitting at the computer plugging away. \u00a0I plan to spend next week rereading it very carefully, making additional changes where necessary, and then off it goes to the publisher. \u00a0Number 27 it is. \u00a0What a journey this has been.<\/p>\n
Occasionally I think back to how it all began. \u00a0I was fairly new in recovery, hurting most of the time because my connection to a Higher Power wasn’t very secure. \u00a0I didn’t seem to have the level of joy and confidence that others had. \u00a0I’d go to meetings, feel pretty good, go out for coffee with the group; then go home and worry. \u00a0What began to give me solace was journaling. \u00a0My contact with the God of my understanding was made each time I sat down to write. \u00a0I could breathe a bit easier then.<\/p>\n
Eventually Each Day A New Beginning<\/strong><\/em> was born. \u00a0Unfortunately, my insecurities didn’t disappear. \u00a0The book didn’t change every thing about my journey but writing it did teach me that when I sat quietly, God would show up and comfort me. \u00a0The words I heard I shared with others.
