{"id":200,"date":"2009-12-08T16:54:26","date_gmt":"2009-12-08T21:54:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/karencasey.wordpress.com\/?p=200"},"modified":"2009-12-08T16:54:26","modified_gmt":"2009-12-08T21:54:26","slug":"giving-away-what-we-have-received-is-how-we-keep-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.womens-spirituality.com\/?p=200","title":{"rendered":"Giving away what we have received is how we keep it. . ."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This simple aphorism is a bit of shorthand for living the good life. \u00a0And I have been given the good life and my intent is to give away what I have learned from the many who are wiser than me.<\/p>\n<p>Among those things I want to give away at this gift-giving time is the suggestion that you, that all of us, slow down a bit and enjoy the simple pleasures that surround us. \u00a0Every person on your path today, and every day, embodies one of those &#8220;moments of pleasure,&#8221; if you choose to describe him or her that way. \u00a0They have not arrived by accident. \u00a0They are part of the divine play that has been orchestrated for you.<\/p>\n<p>Every time I dwell on this idea, it thrills me. \u00a0No one is extraneous to my journey. \u00a0Nor your journey either. \u00a0Isn&#8217;t that an amazing realization? \u00a0And because he or she has &#8220;arrived,&#8221; it must mean you have something to offer. \u00a0Or to receive. \u00a0It could be one or the other. \u00a0Or both.<\/p>\n<p>Giving to all the others who pass our way a greeting and a silent prayer is certainly how we keep our serenity. \u00a0When was the last time you felt out of sorts? \u00a0Had you tried this method for &#8220;treating it,&#8221; your mood would have changed. \u00a0I guarantee it.<\/p>\n<p>Acknowledging the interconnectedness of the human community, every member of it, is another way of feeling joined and whole rather than separate, isolated and afraid. \u00a0Too many of us live in a state of fear. \u00a0See who you can bring &#8220;into the circle&#8221; today. \u00a0We all heal as one of us heals. \u00a0We all grow as one of us grows. \u00a0We all come to know serenity every time we hold out the prayer for serenity for another fellow-traveler. \u00a0Let&#8217;s make this gift-giving time truly special for someone else today. \u00a0He or she didn&#8217;t show up &#8220;uninvited.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This simple aphorism is a bit of shorthand for living the good life. \u00a0And I have been given the good life and my intent is to give away what I have learned from the many who are wiser than me.
