I heard a speaker yesterday talk about the importance of letting the other people in our lives know that they are making a difference to us. \u00a0We can do this in myriad ways. \u00a0Obviously we can say thank you. \u00a0We can make eye contact and smile. \u00a0We can send a note of gratitude. \u00a0Even an e-mail counts.<\/p>\n
We can reach out and physically touch our fellow travelers in a loving way. That’s one of my favorites. \u00a0I like to reach out and offer a hand or a hug to the person who stands before me. \u00a0I get great satisfaction giving away that which I also want to receive. \u00a0Making this connection carries with it such healing power.<\/p>\n
Actually, we can even say silent prayers for those among us who are struggling. Since the prayers are silent, they likely don’t know we are honoring them, at the time the prayer is being said, but God knows and we know too. \u00a0The power of the prayer is reflected in the moment and ultimately, in the heart of the one who was prayed for too.<\/p>\n
Our hearts are changed every time we extend ourselves to another in some way. \u00a0The even more important ramification of this is that there is a ripple effect. \u00a0My prayer and the recipient of my prayer aren’t the only people who are positively impacted. \u00a0What is said on behalf of one reaches all. \u00a0What heals one, heals all. \u00a0And what harms one, harms all.<\/strong> We must be aware of our actions, and our power,<\/em> every minute.<\/p>\n I have heard it said that rapt attention to one another’s presence is the greatest gift we can offer and costs nary a dime. \u00a0It costs time, nothing more. \u00a0But the benefits to every person are immense. \u00a0Additionally, every person who is honored by your attention to them quite naturally passes the honor on. \u00a0As we feel gratified, we quite simply and naturally want to gratify others. \u00a0In this way we each have the capacity to make a difference in the whole community and as communities change, so do countries. \u00a0Playing this out to it’s natural conclusion is both amazing and profound. \u00a0Wouldn’t you agree?<\/p>\n If you think you don’t make a difference in the lives of others, think again. \u00a0Your every word, every expression, every smile or frown<\/em>, is being registered in the mind of others. \u00a0Be choosy about what you offer to the public at large. \u00a0It can come back to haunt you or bless you. \u00a0The choice is easy. \u00a0Isn’t it?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I heard a speaker yesterday talk about the importance of letting the other people in our lives know that they are making a difference to us. \u00a0We can do this in myriad ways. \u00a0Obviously we can say thank you. \u00a0We can make eye contact and smile. \u00a0We can send a note of gratitude. \u00a0Even an […]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1256","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-circle-of-family-and-friends-you-and-your-personal-community"],"yoast_head":"\n
